Provision and use of our website and online platform

Use for information purposes
You can find out about IFJ AG and the services we offer on the website without telling us who you are. As with any connection to a web server, the server on which we host the website and the online platform automatically logs and stores certain technical data and retains it for a short period of time. This includes your device’s IP address and operating system, the date and time of use, and the type of browser you use to access the website or online platform.

Use of our online platforms
We operate, amongst others, www.ifj.ch/gruenden/service (‘online platform’). When you register as a user on the online platform, we collect the information you provide to us. This includes general personal data such as your name and contact details, as well as personal information that you or other users enter, upload, generate, store and edit whilst using the online platform. Web analytics

We use web analytics services (currently Google Analytics and Meta Business Suite) to analyse website usage and gather information to help us optimise the site. The web analytics services we use collect and store usage data using cookies. Google Analytics truncates the requesting IP addresses before they are transmitted to a server outside Switzerland/the EU/the EEA; consequently, no personal data is transmitted to Google’s web analytics services abroad.

Advertising technologies

We use advertising technologies from Google Ads, YouTube Ads, Microsoft Ads, Meta Ads and TikTok Ads on the website. This enables us to target visitors to our website with relevant advertising when they visit other websites. The adverts are displayed on the websites you visit based on an analysis of your previous use of our website. To this end, the providers of advertising technologies set cookies when you visit our website.

Social plugins

The social plugins used on the website allow you to recommend and share our content on social networks. You can recognise the social plugins on the website by the logos of the respective social network. When you interact with the social plugin, data is sent to the respective social network provider.

Use and optimisation of our newsletter

When you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect the information you provide to us. This includes general personal data such as your first name, surname and email address. We use analytics services to measure and analyse the use of our newsletter. The analytics services collect and analyse usage data such as the number of people who have opened a newsletter or clicked on specific articles. We receive reports generated on this basis. These enable us to optimise our newsletter and provide you with content that interests you. You can also inform us at any time that you no longer wish to receive our newsletter in future. Please use the unsubscribed link at the end of the newsletter. If you click on this, we will no longer measure or analyse your use of the newsletter in future.

For what purposes do we process your personal data and on what basis

By clicking, ticking a box or expressing interest verbally, as well as by participating in webinars, courses and events, users of IFJ platforms and activities consent to IFJ storing the data collected from the user, including the IP address and the time of the expression of interest, and transmitting this data to the partner organisations selected by the user; Through your selective opt-in, partner organisations may use your data without restriction for the purposes of contacting you and for marketing purposes. To promote the personal network of each course and event participant, the first name, surname or alias registered for the respective on-site or online event may be published in the IFJ login area or in the digital tool used for this purpose. When participating in courses and events funded by a partner, registration data may be transmitted to the relevant partner. Users agree that their data may be processed to handle their enquiry and that they may be contacted personally. The following categories of recipients are involved:

  • other group companies;
  • external service providers;
  • other customers;
  • suppliers and business partners;
  • (where applicable) public authorities and courts.

Place of processing

We primarily store and process your personal data in Switzerland and the EU. However, we may also transfer your personal data to recipients in countries outside Switzerland or the EU (worldwide, in particular the USA). We carry out data transfers to countries without adequate data protection on the basis of standard data protection clauses or legal exceptions (e.g. necessity for the performance of a contract).
